Another New Thing is a transatlantic trio uniting three distinct musical trajectories spanning analog modular experimentation, chart-topping pop production, and literary songwriting who are rumored to have spontaneously originated during a recording session in the Welsh countryside in 2015.
Paul Nagle: A UK electronic music pioneer whose path began in the 1970s, Paul released music on underground cassette labels, performed solo across Europe and the US, appeared on Cherry Red’s seminal Close to the Noise Floor compilation, wrote for Sound On Sound magazine, and composed music for television.
Dean Honer: Based in Sheffield, Dean gained national acclaim as a founding member of All Seeing I (“Beat Goes On”, “Walk Like A Panther”) and I Monster (“Daydream In Blue”, “Who Is She”). His reputation as a skilled producer and mixer led to working with Add N to X, Britney Spears, and Róisín Murphy, plus The Eccentronic Research Council and the mysterious Frogman.
Don Himlin: Hailing from rural Pennsylvania, where he works from a basement studio called, Mind Your Head, Don released solo albums (Box Of Joy, Basket Full Of Holes, SCHMOE and This Is Your Medication), wrote a published novel (Of Meadows and More), and continues musical efforts, now with A.N.T. and attempts at completing a semi-sequel novel.
At the time of this writing, Another New Thing is in the process of releasing their second album, to be called OBSERVO!, beginning with some single releases in 2026. OBSERVO! is the follow-up to the band’s first album XYZZY, released in 2021 to good reviews and a ‘BBC6 Album Of The Day’ slot.
